Say “Happy Valentines Day” With Something Sweet

February 14th is a time to celebrate those special people in our lives. A time to make glittered cards and bake special treats! These Valentine Heart Cookies! With this recipe, one hour will make forty people you care about smile. Ingredients
    • 1 lb 1.5 oz of sugar cookie mix
    • 1 tablespoon of flour
    • 1/3 cup of softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of red or pink frosting
  • Granulated sugar
  • A 2 ¼ inch heart-shaped cookie cutter
  • Wax paper
  • A cookie sheet

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. While waiting for the oven to heat up, blend the flour and cookie mix. Next, add the egg and butter. Mix this until the consistency is soft and doughy. 2. Next, roll the dough out on a floured surface until it reaches a thickness of about a 1/8th of an inch. With your heart-shaped cutter, begin extracting your cookies and placing them on the wax paper which should be covered in your granulated sugar. Don’t forget to flip the cookies over, coating both sides. Once completed, place your cookies on an ungreased sheet. 3. The color we are looking for is a light golden brown, which only takes about 5 to 6 minutes to complete. Make sure to be attentive and don't overdo it. Remove the cookies from the oven for 1 minute after baking, and then remove them from the sheets completely to cool for 15 minutes. 4. Once the cookies are completely cooled, you are ready to start frosting! For the filling, you only need one teaspoon of frosting per cookie sandwich. 5. The cookies are filled; the color is perfect, now to enlist some help! Grab your little ones to decorate the tops with more frosting and added sprinkles or a nice Valentine’s Day greeting. After all, this is the holiday for being together with the ones you love. All of us at Carver Insurance Services, Inc. wish you a wonderful Valentine's day!
